2007-08 Season Notes
SP Music: "Legends of the Fall"; FS Music: "Freedom" ... Costume designer is Mrs. Margaret at Skate Texas.
Goals are to do her best and really enjoy skating, and of course, to make the World Team.
2006-07 Season Notes
SP Music: Theme from the movie "Legends of the Fall"; FS Music: "Theme and Variations" by Tchaikovsky; Lea Ann Miller choreographed her free skate, and Jana Conter choreographed the short program.
Goals for this season are to receive a standing ovation, qualify for the Grand Prix Final and make the World Team ... Also says her goal is to "move up as many places at nationals as I did last year - oops, there aren't that many places (last year I moved up five places), so I guess to move up three places would be just fine!"
Boot problems in the beginning of the season gave her difficulty in her first two Grand Prix events ... Short program music for the beginning of the season was "Happy Feet" by John Altman.
2005-06 Season Notes
Short program music: "Rhapsody in Blue" by Gershwin; Free skate music: "Forrest Gump Suite" by Silvestri
Won the Four Continents title - her first major international senior competition ... Alternate for the Olympic and World Teams ... Finished fourth at the U.S. Championships.
2004-05 Season Notes
Short program music: Irish medley; Free skate music: "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini"
2003-04 Season Notes
Taylor won silver in her first Junior Grand Prix event in Bratislava ... She came back from fifth after the short program ... Her free skate is performed to an American medley while she skated to an Irish medley for her short program.
Notes
Taylor began skating at age 6 because that is when her parents finally signed her up for lessons ... Her parents first heard her talk about figure skating when she was 4 years old because she told them she was going to be a "pretty famous ice skater" ... Says she thinks she was "born to skate" ... Attends Texas Tech University High School ... She won academic awards for science, Spanish and math ... Was also part of the National Junior Honor Society, National Honor Society, and won the President's Award for Academic Excellence ... Was a member of the 2007 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Scholastic Honors Team ... Does volunteer work for her club by teaching Junior Blades classes and doing guest performances at her rink to promote the sport ... Also volunteers to benefit breast cancer research ... Wants to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's - she has two grandparents who suffered from the disease ... Most prized possessions are her family photos because they bring back such good memories, the Bible she received when she was baptized, and her skates ... Hobbies are swimming, tennis, hanging out with friends, walking her dog, cooking, and dancing ... Has a passion for cooking and tennis ... Wants a hot pink Hummer H3 ... Says not many people know she loves going to baseball games ... Would be on "Dancing With the Stars" because "I love to dance and the costumes are amazing" ... Wants to become a sports trainer and nutritionist, lawyer or sport psychiatrist after skating, and eventually own a bakery ... Would like to meet Apolo Anton Ohno because "he seems like a very dedicated and hard working person who would have great advice and encouragement" ... Listens to just about anything on her iPod, except rap, because "I can't ever understand a word of it."
