A success story

Life these days for Kristi Yamaguchi couldn't be any more hectic, or happier.

The 1992 Olympic champion is the proud mother of two daughters - Keara, 3, and Emma, 1 - and the wife of Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Bret Hedican.

When she's not chasing kids or watching a hockey game, Yamaguchi can be found directing her "Always Dream Foundation," which this year celebrated its 10th anniversary of helping underprivileged and disabled children.

Adding to her busy schedule, the 35-year-old Yamaguchi is in the final days of preparing for a special program on NBC titled "Kristi Yamaguchi Friends and Family." The show will be taped Dec. 10 at the Colonial Center in Columbia, S.C., about four hours from her home in Raleigh, N.C. NBC will air the program on Jan. 14 from 4-6 EST.
