March 2007Spokane delivers
The top skaters in the United States delivered the goods each day and night to frenzied fans, who packed the Convention Center arena and Spokane Arena to the rafters.
A record 154,893 skating die-hards walked through the turnstiles during the weeklong event, Jan. 21-27, and it's safe to say no one left disappointed.
"This U.S. Championships was one of the most successful in history in several respects," U.S. Figure Skating President Ron Hershberger said. "Not only to set the attendance record but to smash the previous high proves that well-marketed figure skating events have limitless potential, and that the sport is vibrant and popular among fans of all ages."

The best international lineup of skaters in the history of the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships converged on Colorado Springs, Colo., Feb. 7-10. In such a strong field, the United States held its own, winning half of the 12 available medals at the event, including gold in ladies and men.
Thomas fulfills lifelong dream

Debi Thomas' life has been about so much more than a successful skating career. This autumn, Debra Thomas, M.D., will begin the next phase of her life when she begins work at the Carle Clinic Association in Urbana, Ill, one of the largest multi-specialty medical groups in the country.
