Tested and true

Skaters who entertain dreams of competing at the Olympic Winter Games or World Figure Skating Championships oftentimes scale back or delay their college plans for the obvious reason that there are only so many hours in a day.

Ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White, who proudly don the maize and blue of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, have refused to give up anything as they kicked off their 12th season together this fall.

It's a quality their peers, coaches and parents deeply admire.
