August/September 2009Voice of experienceThere's a familiar figure at Toronto's Richmond Training Centre, gliding along with unmistakable elegance and a megawatt smile while Rachael Flatt works on programs she hopes will take her to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Dorothy Hamill is back on the ice. "I'm here as a fly on the wall, another pair of eyes, to help Rachael," the 1976 Olympic champion said. "It's been a blast, getting to know her, learning a little bit about the new judging system, getting back into the swing. "Rachael has made such an impression on me. I would like to say I have a lot to teach her, but she's so smart, she's already got it together so much more than I did at her age."
Read all about Hamill's mentoring of Flatt in the August/September issue of SKATING.
