| Yuna Kinoshita |
Age:
11
Home club:
South Bay FSC
Skating level:
Juvenile freestyle and intermediate moves
Favorite skaters:
I like Michelle Kwan because she never gives up and Sasha Cohen because of flexibility and confidence.
How often I skate:
Every day, except Saturday and Sunday, for two hours
Coach:
Jessica Posada
Favorite jumps/moves:
I love the Axel and double Axel even if it's a little cheated! My favorite spins are the layback, flying camel and illusions.
How I got started:
When I was 7 years old I went to a daycare and every month we had field trips. One time we went skating. I liked it so much that I started with group lessons and then started private lessons when I was 8.
Favorite skating moment:
I was really happy when I got first place at my first competition. I did well, but I was nervous. Another happy moment was at Golden West last year where I got fifth in the qualifying round and fourth in the final round (pre-juvenile).
Goals:
To go to the U.S. Junior Championships, to land a clean double Axel (consistently) this year, and I want to be a part of the Olympic Team.
What else you should know about me:
I take jazz dance lessons once a week, and I do ballet lessons at my skating rink. I love to talk, write, read and draw.
