| Chelsea Firth |
Age:
10
Home club:
Amherst FSC
Skating level:
Juvenile freestyle and intermediate moves in the field.
Coach:
Lisa Ervin-Baudo
Favorite skaters:
My sister Taylor is my favorite because she is a good skater. I also like Sasha Cohen because she is an all-around skater — a good jumper, great spins and everything in between.
How often I skate:
I skate six days a week two to four hours a day. I skate three mornings a week before school and six afternoons a week. I get early dismissal from school to fit my skating schedule.
How I got started:
I was four when I started skating. My three sisters were skating so it was natural for me to skate, too.
Favorite jumps/moves:
The Axel and double flip are my favorite jumps. I like to learn new jumps and try to master them. I'm working on jumps up to the double Lutz. I like the layback spin and combo spins.
Favorite skating moment:
I was proud of myself when I placed sixth in the initial round on the juvenile level at North Atlantics.
Goals:
I want to make it to U.S. Junior Championships and do well there. I would also like to get all my doubles and some of my triples by next year. I want to go to Mid-Atlantics and do well.
What else you should know about me:
I am a successful violin player and on the merit roll at school. I love to have fun and spend time with my friends.
