Meet Kaylee Miner
 |
| Kaylee Miner |
Age:
7
Home club:
Center Ice and Blades Rink, Delmont, Pa.
Skating level:
Preliminary
Coaches:
Bob Mock, and Barb and Julie Gahagan
Favorite skaters:
Michelle Kwan — she is friendly and skates with so much grace. I also like Alexei Yagudin.
How long I've been skating:
About a year and a half
Favorite jumps/moves:
I now have my Axel and double Salchow, and my favorite spin is the flying camel. I love doing my spiral — it is probably my best element and people always say I look like Michelle Kwan when I perform it.
Favorite skating moment:
When I went to Delaware for the Liberty Competition, where I won a gold medal and was lucky enough to meet Alexei Yagudin.
Goals:
I would love to go to a college where there is a skating team (like the University of Delaware). I would also like to have a career as a coach. It would be fun having a job where you get to ice skate all day long.
What else you should know about me:
I am a straight-A student in the second grade. I also compete on an all-star cheerleading squad and am a cheerleader for our school football team. I take ballet, play the piano and participate in a cheer-tumble class and gymnastics. I have done numerous modeling assignments and TV commercials, and I'm a member of the local animal shelter's “Angel” program.
