Age:
12
Home club:
San Diego FSC
Skating level:
Juvenile
Coach:
Karyl Kawaichi
Favorite skaters:
Sasha Cohen is my favorite skater of all time. It's because I like her flexibility, her artistic side, her grace and flow.
How often I skate:
I skate 45 minutes to two hours a day six days a week.
How I got started:
When I was 5 my family went to the mall and I watched the skaters at the ice rink in the food court. Then I told my mom I wanted to start skating, so she signed me up for classes.
Favorite jumps/moves:
The double loop and double toe are my favorite jumps. I can't land a double Axel yet, though I try and try, but it is fun doing them. My favorite moves are the Biellmann, the backward knee spiral and the Ina Bauer.
Favorite skating moment:
My favorite skating moment is when I got first place in a U.S. Figure Skating competition when I was pre-preliminary. When I saw the results I screamed and cried.
Goals:
My goals are to perfect my double flip and double Lutz, plus to land my double Axel and do the best I can do in my competitions. Most importantly is to work hard for my dreams to come true.
What else you should know about me:
I like to play the piano and the flute. My sister, Denise, brother, Jared, Mom and Dad and the family support me at every competition I'm in.
