March 2005

| Caroline McCormick |
Age: 8
Home club: Southern Wisconsin FSC
Skating level: Pre-preliminary
Coaches: Tricia Offerdahl and Trevor Laak
Favorite skater: Sasha Cohen because she uses great expression and her programs always flow with her music and look pretty.
How often I skate: In the summer I try to skate six times a week. During the school year I skate at least four but sometimes five times a week.
How I got started: When I was 3 I saw some figure skaters on “Sesame Street” and I told my mom, “I can do that.” So she enrolled me in classes.
Favorite jumps/moves: I really like my flip. When I do it, it feels like I jump really high. I also like my sit spin.
Favorite skating moment: Last year at the Badger State Games I won first in pre-pre moves in the field. When I was on the medal stand I remember looking up and seeing some of my friends cheering and clapping and dancing around ... for me!.
Goals: I want to keep learning more jumps and moves and whatever else I can.
What else you should know about me: I love animals of all kinds. I have two hermit crabs, a dog and a hamster. I especially love my dog, Zel. He sleeps on my feet at night. I also love to dance and I take tap, jazz and ballet.
