August/September 2005

| Madison Spialek |
Age: 9
Home club: Denver FSC
Skating Level: Pre-juvenile (and I'm doing a juvenile short program to “Willy Wonka”)
Coaches: Shellanne Mellor-Pasquale (primary coach), Diane Miller (jumps), Eddie Shipstad (fishing pole), Sally Smith (acting/presentation), Christy Krall (Dartfish)
How often I skate: I skate five days a week — two freestyle sessions and a moves session. I take ballet, jazz, pilates and do off-ice training as well.
How long I've been skating: Six years
Favorite jumps/moves: I like doing a double toe. My coach says I'm the “double toe queen.”
Favorite skating moment: Last July I took five first-place medals in Vail, Colo.
Goals: My goal is to make it to the U.S. Junior Championships.
Favorite skaters: Tara Lipinski inspired me to skate, Kurt Browning is funny, and Sasha Cohen is pretty and elegant on the ice. I have met them all at different times.
What else you should know about me: I like to act and model. I have a chihuahua named Sasha that I named after Sasha Cohen.
