| Alexa Nazarko |
Age: 6
Home club: North Jersey FSC
Level: Pre-preliminary
How I started skating?: My mom and dad took me to Fritz Dietl Ice Rink on my fourth birthday for a lesson. I loved the ice from that day and couldn't wait for the next time to skate.
How often do you skate?: Four days a week
Favorite jumps/moves: Axel, Lutz, combination jumps, Biellmann, rifle and camel spins
Goals: Going to the Cup of Russia with my coach Natasha Polunitcheva, and one day going to the Olympics and winning the gold
Favorite skaters: Sasha Cohen, Irina Slutskya, Miki Ando, Johnny Weir and Kimmie Meissner
Favorite skating moments My first gold medal; the fog at Hershey; my first Axel; World champion Miki Ando sitting next to me and talking to me while eating her lunch; and Johnny Weir acting silly and being funny in a really good way after he finished practice
What else you should know about me: I go to school every day and am an “A” student. I am the South Atlantic Regional freeskate gold medalist for 2007, and the Middle Atlantic no-test silver medalist for 2007. I take gymnastics for two hours a week and dance three hours a week as part of my off-ice training. My hobbies are piano, swimming and tennis.
