February 2008

| Kailyn Miller |
Age: 9
Home club: Bremerton FSC
Level: Preliminary
How I started skating: When I was 2, I would watch skating on television and pretend that I was skating on my hardwood floor. My mom finally signed me up for lessons when I was 5. That summer, I attended a camp called GreatSkates, where I met my coach, Miss Gina, and began taking private lessons from her.
How often do you skate?: Four to five days a week
Coaches: Brenda Peterson and Outi Francis
Favorite jumps/moves: The Lutz and flip. My favorite spins are the sit spin, back spin and camel spin.
Goals: To compete at the senior level
Favorite skaters: I like Sasha Cohen for her jumps and footwork. I like Caroline Zhang for her grace, and I like Evan Lysacek for his jumps and spins.
Favorite skating moments: When two of my coaches promised me a very special reward for landing my double Axel for the first time. They didn't think I would really do it. I shocked them both by landing it, and they had to give me the reward.
What else you should know about me: I also play softball and I'm a straight-A student. I have a brother, Jonathan, and a sister, Lyndsay. When I am not at the rink, I am always with my best friend, Nicole.
