| Cassandra Marie Wilson |
Age: 8
Home club: Detroit SC
Skating level: Advanced beginner working on freestyle, dance and moves in the field
Favorite skaters: My favorite skaters are Yuka Sato, Jason Dungjen, Steve Hartsell, Aaron Parchem, Deryck Szatkowski and Michelle Kwan.
How long I've been skating: I began skating at age 6 in the Chevy/U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program.
How often I skate: I am currently skating five days a week, one hour a day.
Favorite jumps/ moves: My favorites so far are the waltz jump, forward and backward lunges, half flip, scratch spin and spiral.
What I like about skating: I like to dance, and I like the music. I like the way people treat me at the Detroit SC. They really like kids of all kinds.
Favorite skating moments: When I was picked to be part of the Detroit SC's preliminary Team Elan, winning my gold medal at Berkley Royal Blades FSC and my friends at the Detroit SC.
Goals: My dream is to be an Olympic skater. My goal is to work hard to make my dream come true.
What else you should know about me: I have epilepsy. It's so bad that I can't ride my bike. When I'm skating my epilepsy goes away. I feel really good skating. Fred Martin in my good luck charm — he sharpens my skates.
