Team rituals: We first do our warmup with music. Before each competition, we all sit in a circle in the dark and run through our program, picturing it in our minds to the music. We do a hand-clapping cheer.
What makes the Highsteppers special? We all have fun making new programs. We have fun on trips, and on the ice we work as hard as we can. We all work together to achieve a goal. We have known each other for a few years and are good friends. Our team is special because we all try hard to skate our best. We always exhibit good sportsmanship toward each other and other teams.
Team goals: Our goals are to come together this year and push ourselves with footwork and expression throughout the competition season. We want to improve our teamwork, skills and uniformity. We want do our personal best all the time.
What is the best part of being on a synchronized team? The things we most enjoy are being able to make up new programs, always having fun with the people we are with, and performing in all kinds of places.
What are some of your favorite memories? Our favorite memories are going to Texas for Midwesterns and winning at Mids two years in a row. At Mids in Texas, everyone was singing and having fun on the bus. Some of the best memories are made while we are on bus trips. We all act crazy and just have a great time.
