Team rituals: Our team colors are red and blue. Before we go on the ice for competitions or shows, we sing our team song in the locker room. We took the best part of the following three songs to make up our own team song: Lilo and Stitch, Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride and Hawaii VC.

What makes the National Blades special? Representing our nation's capital, Washington D.C., where our club members reside. Team goals: We want to have fun, skate our best this season and advance to nationals.

What is the best part of being on a synchronized team? Learning the routines and having a bunch of friends to hang out with while skating. Traveling to competitions is always fun, too. The best part of the traveling is to celebrate in the hotel swimming pool after the competition. Most of the team members have been skating as a team for the last five years. Each year we welcome new members and say goodbye to members who have to move away. We love our coaches.

What are some of your favorite memories? We won the pre-juvenile level at the Eastern Championships last season. Our bus broke down at one of our overnight competitions last season and we had to stay for an extra night at the hotel swimming pool. We also love to trade pins with other teams at competitions. Last New Year's Day, we performed our competition routines during the intermission of a hockey game in Washington D.C.
