Meet the Cleveland Edges

Club/level: Strongville SC/Pre-Juvenile

Coach/Choreographer: Jeff Marshall

Team members: Anne McBride, Alex Manoloff, Andi Gottfried, Christina Savvides, Loretta Ozanich, Ashley Clough, Leanne Ceepo, Rachel Marek, Sophie Savvides, Megan Stitt, Rachel Bonsky, Rachael Smith, Stephanie Drellishak

Team rituals: We form a circle and two girls get in the middle and sing “Little Sally Walker.” The two girls show us what they have and pick two others to go in the middle. Since our coach is male, we pick him a lot. There are group hugs and we always have to make Mrs. Ceepo cry.

Cleveland Edges

What makes the Cleveland Edges special? Our club has existed for more than 20 years and keeps growing. We have beginners, preliminary, pre-juvenile, open juvenile, masters and open adult skaters competing this season.

Team goals: First and foremost is have fun, skate great and win Midwestern Synchronized Sectional, which we did this season. We are on our way to the State Games of America.

What is the best part of being on a synchronized team? Making new friends, spending countless hours together, laughing and just chilling out. We work really hard on and off the ice, learning our routines. We have lots of fun cheering on all of our teams and singing songs on the bus.

What are some of your favorite memories? We won the pre-juvenile level at the Midwestern (Sectional) this season…Our hotel caught fire the night before the qualifying round at Midwesterns…Our team manager knocked herself out getting her luggage off the bus…We sing songs with the open juvenile team…We enjoyed helping beginners prepare for their first competition in Fraser, Mich.…We liked watching the preliminary team beat the Cats. Going to the Hershey store in Chicago and shopping.
