I started in the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program after seeing my older sister go to weekly lessons and wanting to be just like her.
What are the highest tests you've passed?
Senior moves in the field, junior free skating and gold dance.
What do you like best about synchronized skating?
Being surrounded by people with the same goals in mind is incredibly powerful. Most of all, with 20 girls, there is always someone there to cheer you up, help you out or make you laugh. You never have to bottle up you emotions because there is always someone to share them with.
What is your favorite competition memory?
In Cape Cod, we received notice that the competition was canceled for the night due to a snowstorm. We were already in costume. We, of course, had to make use of our appearance so we went Christmas caroling around town. Imagine how strange it would be to open you door and find 27 girls in pink dresses and tiaras singing off key.
What are your goals for the 2007-08 season?
To make the 2008 World Synchronized Skating Team, of course.
