Adult Dance Test Passing Averages FAQ
If you have other questions about the adult dance test passing averages, please e-mail Gail Sombati.
Q: Now that the adult dance test averages have been lowered and I am on a test level higher than pre-silver, what am I to do if I want to take the standard test track?
A: The adult dance test track commences at the pre-silver dance tests. If you took your dance tests as an "adult" at pre-silver, you would need to go back to the pre-silver to take them at the standard dance test. The adult dance tester was always permitted to return to the standard track at the last standard test passed.
Q: Do the new adult dance test averages affect my ability to take the free dance tests?
A: Absolutely not. The new test averages only changed the score it takes to pass the compulsory dances
Q: Since the standard pre-silver track no longer requires a solo, why can't I start testing as an adult at pre-gold?
A: First, in the past when the pre-silver standard test required a solo it occurred only when the partner was an ineligible person and/or had passed the pre-gold dances. Therefore, there were skaters who took the standard track test who did not need to solo. The adult track permitted the pre-silver tester to not perform the solo portion regardless of the partner's status. The choice was made at that time.
