Michelle Kwan To Receive 2004 CTSA Award

(6/4/04) — Michelle Kwan will be honored by the Citizenship Through Sports Alliance (CTSA) on June 13 in Dallas, Texas. Kwan, who will be recognized in the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) category, will be among the athletes receiving CTSA awards during a reception at the Wyndham Anatole. The event, which occurs during the final evening of the 2004 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention, will pay tribute to special individuals with the highest ethical standards in sport, whose lives and careers have reflected an enduring commitment to citizenship, sportsmanship and community service.
Kwan is the most decorated figure skater in U.S. history. She claimed her seventh straight and eighth career U.S. title at the 2004 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championship in Atlanta, Ga., earning seven of a possible nine perfect 6.0 marks for presentation in the free skate. A five-time World champion, Kwan was third at the 2004 World Figure Skating Championships in Dortmund, Germany.
