Team USA Members Sound Off On Reality TV Shows

(7/29/04) — U.S. Figure Skating Online's Summer Fun series is back, and we've got some fun facts about Team USA athletes. We posed the questions, and our athletes responded. Every week for the rest of the summer, we'll let you know what's on our athletes' mind. You'll find out what they'll be watching at this summer's Olympic Games, what their ideal summer jobs would be, and more. This week we posed the question:
"What reality TV show would you most like to be on and why?

Team USA Answers

Cindy Kim, Haydenettes
I would most like to be in the show "The Amazing Race." What a great way to travel with a friend to exotic places around the world while completing crazy missions and racing like a madman to stay in the game. The prize at the end isn't so shabby either.

Melissa Hampson, Team Elan Junior
I would love to be on "The Real World" or "Road Rules" on MTV because you get to meet and live with people from very different backgrounds.

Spotlight on ... Kendra Goodwin

I have always told myself that one day I was going to be on "The Real World." I love that show. It seems like all the people that go on get to meet totally different people that they are not used to. I think being on the show would completely change me as a person.
Amber Corwin
I would like to be "The Bachelorette" and have my pick of all the most eligible bachelors in the country and be treated like a princess.

Scott Smith
"American Idol" — and I would be worse than William Hung.

Jenna Yount
"The Real World"

Marcy Hinzmann
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Too bad I don't have my own house, but if I did I'd want to be on that show. Have you seen what they do to those homes? It's amazing.

Michael Weiss
"Casino" because I'm addicted to gambling

Brianna Perry
"The Real World" because I think it would be fun to live on my own with people that I had never met before

Amy Laser, Team Elan Senior
"Survivor" because I like taking challenges and I love to be competitive. I think it would be fun to show people that I can take challenges and show people my positive attitude toward a competition.

Natalie Mecher
"The Real World" — it would be fun to meet new people. But if it was really reality then they wouldn't need an editing team, right?

Emily Samuelson
"Survivor" because I would want to see if I could make it through to the end and go through all of the challenges. Also "American Idol" because I would want to see how far I could go, and I would want to see what the judges think of my singing (heh heh).

Spotlight on ... Trina Pratt

I would like to be in "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" so that someone else could clean up my house for once.
Brittany Vise
"Trading Spaces" because I love interior design.

Alexandra Patterson
The reality show that I would most like to be in is "Fear Factor" because then I would have to face all of my worst fears, which would be both exciting and terrifying at the same time.

Felicia Beck
Most likely a makeover show because I would love to have my makeup and hair done and get a whole new look

Mariel Miller
"The Simple Life" because it would be fun to get something starting with nothing

Samantha Cepican
I would probably create my own called "The Judge" where judges would compete in various tasks in order to be deemed the judge. If they failed too many of them, they would hear "you're retired."

Evan Lysacek
"The Bachelor" because I would be able to choose between all of those foxy ladies

Katy Taylor
"The Amazing Race" — traveling the world looks like so much fun, and seeing them travel to different countries makes me think of all the places I have been for international competitions.

Garrett Lucash
"The Joe Schmo Show" because it would be such a surprise to know everyone was acting around me

Tiffany Scott
"Survivor" without all the bug eating. It looks very challenging and exciting.

Johnny Weir
I love "The Simple Life." It would be fun because Paris and Nicole are so wild and crazy that anything could happen.

Spotlight on ... Adam Aronowitz

I'd like to be on "The Bachelor" because having the job of breaking the hearts of people you barely know and getting paid for it seems like a once in a lifetime chance.
Lindsey Seitz
I think it would be fun to be on "The Real World." But I don't know if I would be able to live with a bunch of strangers.

Andy Seitz
"The Real World" because you get to live with six really cool people in an awesome house and you don't have to eat anything nasty.

Morgan Matthews
"Big Brother" because they have challenges but they still have bathrooms and showers

Timothy Goebel
I watch the news a lot. I'm a news junkie. I watch a lot of MSN and CNN, I guess that's reality.

Cathleen Renzi, Haydenettes
If I had to pick one it would most likely be "Road Rules." The people on that show get to go places and experience things that most could only dream of. While they have to eat some pretty gross stuff sometimes, they also get to experience things like skydiving and mountain climbing.

Mimi Whetstone
"Average Joe," I enjoy that show.

Jessica Houston
"The Simple Life" because I could never survive on a farm with no shopping

Jason Wong
"Amazing Race," no need to think twice. It would be so cool to travel the world and hopefully win money and prizes.

Cara Kinney
"Fear Factor" because I think it would be a good way to test yourself and learn your limits on things that you wouldn't ordinarily deal with.

Spotlight on ... Nicholas Kole

"Last Comic Standing." I'm not very funny but hey, it's the only reality show that I like.
Tiffany Vise
"Fear Factor," even though I hate bugs. It would be so cool to be up high in the air doing something crazy that would risk my life. "The Swan" would be awesome to be in if they could make me taller.

Lee Harris
"The Bachelor," 25 women fighting over me, do I need to say anything else!

Douglas Razzano
"The Simple Life 2"

Brent Bommentre
MTV's "The Real World" because it's in Philadelphia

Louann Donovan
I would want to be on "Last Comic Standing" because I love to make people laugh.

Ben Woolwine
"Survivor" because it's the best show ever

Kimmie Meissner
I would like to be in "Fear Factor" because I think that all of the stunts are cool, of course minus the bug stuff.

Katie Uhlig
"Outback Jack" because he's really cute and the outback doesn't seem to be that bad at all, except for the spiders

Kate Nelson, Hockettes
I would probably pick "Road Rules" even though the people are a little crazy. I think it would be fun to travel all over the world and do crazy things to win money.

Shanell Noji
"Average Joe" because I love the hunks

Parker Pennington
I would say one like that "Paradise Hotel" from last summer. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the girls aren't too bad either. I also wouldn't mind being on "Outback Jack" or "Joe Millionaire."
Spotlight on ... Jennifer Don

With my nonexistent singing ability, I would be the perfect candidate for "American Superstar" (the WB spoof where they found America's worst singers). I would probably win the competition by a landslide.

Adrienne Koob-Doddy
I would probably want to be on "Road Rules" or "The Real World" because they are the only reality shows I watch. Plus they stay in awesome houses.

Brooke Castile
MTV's "The Real World" because it would be a great experience and you get to live in an unbelievable house and just have fun. Plus there is no money or love twist thrown in.

Alyssa Bronikowski, Team Elan Junior
"Survivor" because then I could see how long I could last without everything that I have

Katie Orscher
"Road Rules" because they get to do so many different challenges and some are really cool and interesting. I would like to try and win and travel to all parts of the world.

Beatrisa Liang
"The Mole" because it's very challenging and fun

Laura Ziemiecki, Fraser Eclipse Junior
I could definitely see myself on "Survivor" because I'm athletic and I really think I could handle myself out there. Plus it would be cool because I skated on a novice team a few years ago and that was where our music was from.

Sasha Cohen
I like the "Newlyweds," it's a fun show. But no one else could be on it. I'm not much of a reality TV fan. In general I watch sitcoms. I really like "Friends."

Michelle Kwan
I do watch reality shows occasionally, like "The Bachelor." I would like to be on "The Bachelorette;" it would be so hard to be rejected on "The Bachelor."

Colin Loomis
"Last Comic Standing" because people say that I'm a pretty funny guy and you don't have to eat anything disgusting.

Jordan Brauninger
Who wants to know? Did the penguins send you?

Ben Cohen
"The Real World" because city living is always a blast

Yebin Mok
"The Apprentice," I enjoy watching it so I think I would enjoy being in it.

Drew Meekins
"The Simple Life" because they look like they are having so much fun.
