U.S. Team Announced for Junior Grand Prix in Mexico City, Mexico

(8/13/08) - U.S. Figure Skating announced today the skaters it will send to compete in the third event of the 2008 Junior Grand Prix (JGP) of Figure Skating Series, which takes place Sept. 10-14 in Mexico City, Mexico.
The event will be held at Icentral and will begin Thursday, Sept. 11, with the compulsory dance and the pairs and men's short programs. Official practice will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Fourteen athletes will represent the United States at the event in four disciplines: ladies, men's, pairs and ice dancing. The U.S. team hails from seven states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Ohio and Virginia.
In addition to Mexico City, Mexico, the Junior Grand Prix Series consists of the following events:
JGP France: Courchevel, France – Aug. 28-31
JGP Italy: Merano, Italy – Sept. 3-7
JGP Czech Republic: Ostrava, Czech Republic – Sept. 17-21
JGP Spain: Madrid, Spain – Sept. 24-28
JGP Belarus: Gomel, Belarus – Oct. 1-5
JGP South Africa: Cape Town, South Africa – Oct. 8-12
JGP Great Britain: Sheffield, Great Britain – Oct. 15-18
JGP Final: Goyang City, South Korea – Dec. 10-14
