(3/9/09) - Following the successful 2009 AT&T U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Cleveland, Ohio, the five assistant referees - Tamie Campbell, Holly Cole, Wendy Enzmann, Kathleen Krieger and Kathleen Harmon - were so impressed with chief referee Todd Bromley's performance and professionalism throughout the competition that they decided to reward his efforts by making a charitable gift to benefit U.S. Figure Skating's judges education program.

Campbell, Cole, Enzmann, Krieger and Harmon pooled their resources and donated money to enhance judges education programs in honor of Bromley.

"We can't think of a better way to recognize the contributions made by Todd than to invest in the programs that make us all stronger and more effective in our positions," Campbell said. "Sure, we thanked Todd for his service, but we thought it important to memorialize our appreciation by making a gift in his honor, too."

The mission of U.S. Figure Skating's development program is to provide opportunities for members and friends to support athletes, coaches and programs through annual giving, special events, major gifts and planned giving.

"This unique gift by these five individuals is a perfect example of how our volunteers can honor one of their peers," U.S. Figure Skating Executive Director David Raith said.
