2014 International Synchronized Skating Season Continues this Week with Mozart Cup

(1/24/14) - Four U.S. synchronized skating teams are set to compete this weekend at 2014 Mozart Cup in Salzburg, Austria. Miami University and California Gold will compete in the senior competition while the Skyliners and St. Louis Synergy will compete at the junior level. The event is set to take place Jan. 24-26 at Eisarena Salzburg.

Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) has recorded top three finishes at each of the last nine U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. The team most recently finished eighth at the 2013 World Synchronized Championships. California Gold (Artesia, Calif.) was sixth at the 2013 U.S. Synchronized Championships.

The Skyliners (New York) are the 2013 U.S. junior silver medalists. St. Louis Synergy finished seventh at their first U.S. Synchronized Championships in 2013 to earn an international assignment this winter.

All four teams are also set to compete at the 2014 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships Feb. 26-March 1, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
