Team USA Finishes Seventh and 11th at the 2014 World Synchronized Skating Championships

(4/6/14) - Team USA finished in seventh and 11th place at the 2014 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in Courmayeur, Italy this weekend.

The Haydenettes, who last month won their 22nd U.S. title and earned their sixth straight berth to this event, were fifth after the short program, but finished in seventh place overall after the seventh-best free skate. They finished the weekend with 196.90 total points.

The Crystallettes returned to the world stage after a year layoff in 2013 and matched their finish of 11th in 2012 at this event. They earned 154.61 points for the weekend.

The medalists were Team Finland 1, Team Canada 1 and Team Finland 2. Earning the top score in both the short program and the free skate, Marigold IceUnity captured the title with 223.45 points over NEXXICE (220.88) and the Rockettes (220.66)
