Basic Skills Instructors Requirements

Beginning July 1, 2011, those Basic Skills instructors that are not obligated to go through the coaches registration process must meet one of the following requirements. The Basic Skills instructors requirements are for coaches that ONLY work with Basic Skills skaters. Coaches that work with skaters above pre-preliminary must complete the coaches registration and the additional requirements stated on the Coaches Requirements page.

If a coach has already completed his or her coaches registration, he or she does NOT need to complete the Basic Skills instructors registration. This coach will only need to purchase a Basic Skills instructors membership through his or her Basic Skills program for $12.

No coach will need to process two registrations or background checks.
