Arakawa Replaces Lambiel at Marshalls Showcase

(4/6/06) - U.S. Figure Skating announced today that 2006 Olympic champion Shizuka Arakawa of Japan will replace 2006 Olympic silver medalist Stephane Lambiel of Switzerland at the 2006 Marshalls U.S. Figure Skating International Showcase in Greenville, S.C., on April 11. Lambiel has withdrawn due to injury. The event will take place at 7 p.m. at the BI-LO Center.
The event will also feature Michelle Kwan, Sasha Cohen, Kimmie Meissner, Evan Lysacek, Johnny Weir, Tanith Belbin & Ben Agosto, as well as other U.S. and international athletes. It will include two exhibition pieces performed by each athlete. The event will be broadcast on ABC on April 15 from 3-5 p.m.
Tickets are now on sale, and prices are $31, $46, $61, $81 and $121. Youth and senior discounts are available. Tickets can be purchased at the BI-LO box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. One lucky fan will win the Ultimate Seat Upgrade upon entering the BI-LO Center, which will include premier seats and a $500 Marshalls gift certificate.
