(7/10/07) - At least 15 U.S. synchronized teams will compete in six different international competitions this season, traveling to Germany, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Croatia and Sweden. The U.S. champion Haydenettes make their way to Germany for the Cup of Berlin in January while reigning World silver medalist Miami University will compete at the French Cup in February.

Joining the Haydenettes in Berlin will be California Gold, the surprise fourth-place finishers at the 2007 U.S. Synchronized Team Skating Championships, and the Hockettes' junior squad. The following week, the Crystallettes (senior) and Team Braemar (junior) will take part in the Prague Cup.

Accompanying the RedHawks to Rouen, France, are the Colonials, the 2007 U.S. junior silver medalists. Team Elan (senior) and Chicago Jazz (junior) travel to Milan Feb. 8-10 for the Spring Cup.

After taking a month off for teams to prepare for and recuperate from the 2008 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, Feb. 20-23 in Providence, R.I., and the 2008 World Synchronized Skating Challenge Cup for Juniors, March 6-8 in Rouen, France, the U.S. Reserve Team heads back out March 13-15 for the Zagreb Snowflakes Trophy. Skating in that competition is the University of Michigan (senior), Miami (junior) and the Skyliners (junior). For the second year in a row, U.S. novice teams will only compete in a single international competition – the Leon Lurje Trophy. The Starlights, Ice Mates and Chicago Jazz will all be present in Gothenburg, Sweden, for that event.

In January, junior teams will compete for the right to participate in the 2008 World Challenge Cup for Juniors. The selection event will be held Jan. 11-13 in Fraser, Mich., in conjunction with the Mid-America Championships.

Two senior teams will be selected at the 2008 U.S. Synchronized Team Skating Championships to compete at the World Synchronized Skating Championships, March 28-30, in Budapest, Hungary.
