(8/29/11) - Twelve U.S. synchronized skating teams will compete in four international competitions this winter. Two-time reigning World bronze medalist the Haydenettes will take the ice at Neuchatel Trophy in Neuchatel, Switzerland, in mid-February.

The ICE'Kateers (senior) and Miami University (junior) kick off the international season Jan. 27-29, with a trip to Salzburg, Austria, for the Mozart Cup. The ICE'Kateers return to international competition for the first time since winning silver at the 2009 Jegvirag Cup, while Miami University will go for its second international medal after earning silver at 2010 Neuchatel Trophy.

Four teams are set to compete Feb. 3-5, at the French Cup in Rouen, France. Miami University's senior team and California Gold will represent the United States as seniors. Joining them will be a pair of junior teams including Team Braemar, which earn its second title at this event (2010), and the Skyliners.

Joining the 19-time U.S. champion Haydenettes in Switzerland from Feb. 10-12 are fellow senior team the Crystallettes and junior teams the Lexettes and Chicago Jazz.

The Starlights (senior) and Evolution (junior) are set to compete at the Spring Cup in Sesto San Giovanni, Italy, from Feb. 17-19.

Two senior teams will be selected at the 2012 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, Feb. 29-March 3 in Worcester, Mass., to compete at the 2012 World Synchronized Skating Championships, to be held April 12-14 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Two junior teams will compete at the 2012 Synchronized Skating Junior World Challenge Cup March 9-10 (location TBD). The selection competition for that event takes place Jan. 6-8 in Lowell, Mass., in conjunction with the 2012 Colonial Classic.
