Two U.S. Synchronized Teams to Compete at 2012 Spring Cup

(2/16/12) - Two U.S. synchronized skating teams will compete this weekend at 2012 Spring Cup in Sesto San Giovanni, Italy. The Starlights (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) will compete as seniors and Evolution (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) will compete as juniors. The event takes place Feb. 17-19.

The Starlights continue their season, having competed at the 2012 Synchronized Midwestern Sectional in January and placing second. They were sixth at the most recent U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships and placed fifth at 2011 Mozart Cup. The team represents the Skokie Valley SC and is coached by Heather Paige.

Evolution, of the Detroit SC, is coached by Brooke Sloan. They placed fourth at the Midwestern Synchronized Sectional Championships in January. Evolution is the 2011 Spring Cup silver medalists. The team placed fifth at the 2011 U.S. Synchronized Championships as juniors.
