Request for Action
2004 Board of Directors Meeting and Governing Council
May 5-8, 2004
1. The Albuquerque FSC, the Econdido FSC, the Silver Blades SC and the Yarmouth Ice Club jointly request the following:
MOVE to rescind the action known as the 12/4 Plan as reported on page 25 of the Combined Report of Action of the May 9-10, 2003 Governing Council together with the listed specific rules to be affected.
Rationales:
Albuquerque FSC: First, the vote was taken after a 30-minute presentation by management in favor of the motion; amendments were allowed but the vote was ordered without discussion. The vote was close. If opposed views had been presented, it is reasonably likely that the motion would have failed. Second, the proposal does not provide any benefits that justify its annual sot of approximately $200,000. per year in new money.
Escondido FSC, Silver Blades FSC and Yarmouth Ice Club did not offer a rationale
Financial Impact:
Albuquerque FSC: Savings of approximately $135,000. Per year from elimination of regional subsidies and operations expenses. One-time savings of estimated $35,000. -$45,000. from avoidance of set up expense for new boundaries and related issues.
Escondido FSC, Silver Blades FSC and Yarmouth Ice Club did not offer a financial impact statement.
