Group Coordinators
The Group Coordinators oversees a group of committees, representing the activities and issues of those committees to the BOD and providing feedback from the BOD. The Group Coordinator provides strategic direction to their committees, consolidates budget requests to the Treasurer and helps committee chairs select members of their committees.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Voting member of the BOD
- Oversight of the respective Committee Chairs
- In conjunction with the Committee Chairs, develop the annual budget
- Consolidate the committee requests for the Treasurer and allocate the budget across committees
- Report to the BOD on committee activities and requests
- Present rule changes to the BOD and GC
- Provide input to the Vice Presidents to allow them to communicate major activities and issues within the organization to their respective section membership
- Support the transition to a successor when term is completed
Other Activities
- Provide an annual evaluation to the Nominating Committee for each Committee Chair they oversee*
- In Conjunction with Committee Chairs
- Develops the annual goals and objectives
- Selection of Committee members
- Evaluation of Committee members
- Hold regular meetings or conference calls to exchange information and discuss issues
- The Board of Directors
- Qualifications (Individual coordinator positions have specific requirements)
- Must have served as a sectional or national chair of at least one committee for three years
- Demonstrated leadership skills and substantial experience within the skating community
- Excellent communications (oral and written) skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Served as a delegate or attended USFS Governing Council for a minimum of 3 years
- Substantial experience as a competitive skater, judge, accountant or club president, parent of a competitive skater or equivalent leadership experience
- Have served as a Committee Chair and/or Group Coordinator and/or USFS Board of Directors Member and/or has served on the board of a USFS member club.
- Demonstrated experience managing a complex function or organization (e.g. financial function within a large organization) including budgeting and personnel
