2016 KOSE Team Challenge Cup Announces Team Europe

(3/2/16) - 2016 KOSE Team Challenge Cup announced today the first athletes who will represent Team Europe in the inaugural event set for April 22-24, 2016, in Spokane, Washington. Captained by 1984 Olympic ice dance champion Christopher Dean, Team Europe includes Olympic and World competitors.

Athletes representing the Czech Republic, France, Italy and Russia have confirmed participation in 2016 Team Challenge Cup based on the ISU’s World Standings as of Jan. 1, 2016.

"I am excited to serve as captain for the talented group of athletes that makes up Team Europe," Dean said. "The depth of this team will make Team Europe the group to beat in in Spokane. I am looking forward to seeing how all of the athletes perform at this unique event."

Team Challenge Cup will announce Team Asia, including the team captain, in Tokyo on March 9. Team North America was announced on Monday, Feb. 29.

Fans will also have the opportunity to vote one lady and one man as the final team members on each team (North America, Europe and Asia) via the Captain’s Pick. Athletes who have qualified for the 2016 ISU World Figure Skating Championships are eligible to be nominated for the Captain’s Pick fan vote by their respective team captains. Fan voting will open on March 9 and continues through April 4 on www.TeamChallengeCup.com.
